How understanding my DNA helped me restore energy, resilience, and confidence in my body.

I’ve spent my life helping others move and feel better. As an EquiPilates instructor, biomechanics trainer, and personal trainer, I’ve worked with the body from every angle - posture, movement quality, strength, balance, and alignment.
But like many people who dedicate their lives to health and performance, I reached a point where knowledge alone was no longer enough.
In my 70s, despite staying active and committed to movement, I began to notice familiar age-related challenges creeping in. My energy levels weren’t what they once were. Aches and pains became more persistent. Recovery took longer. My skin health and overall vitality felt harder to maintain - even though I was “doing all the right things”.
That’s when I discovered genetic testing - and everything changed.
For years, I followed widely accepted health advice. Eat well. Stay active. Manage stress. Prioritise sleep.
But genetics revealed something crucial to me: what works well for one body doesn’t always work well for another — especially as we age.
My DNA results highlighted how my body uniquely processes nutrients, responds to different types of exercise, handles inflammation, manages stress, and regulates sleep and recovery. It explained why certain approaches I had trusted for decades were no longer delivering the same results.
More importantly, it showed me exactly what needed to change.
By adjusting my nutrition, exercise style, recovery strategies, and daily habits to align with my genetics, I experienced profound improvements:
More consistent energy throughout the day
Reduced aches and joint discomfort, even during busy or physically demanding weeks
Improved skin health, tone, and overall vitality
Better recovery and sleep quality
A renewed sense of confidence in my body’s resilience
These weren’t extreme interventions. They were precise, personalised adjustments, guided by my DNA and supported by my deep understanding of movement and biomechanics.
Genetics didn’t replace everything I knew — it refined it.
My own experience was so impactful that it reshaped the direction of my career.
Today, I work as a Genetics Coach, helping others — particularly those who feel frustrated, tired, or stuck — understand their bodies at a deeper level. I specialise in supporting people who want to:
Maintain independence and vitality as they age
Reduce chronic aches and niggles
Improve energy, skin health, and recovery
Train smarter, not harder
Support long-term health, not short-term fixes
Using DNA insights, I help clients tailor their nutrition, exercise, stress management, and sleep hygiene in a way that works with their biology, not against it.
I don’t just teach genetics-based health - I live it.
My story is proof that meaningful change is possible at any age, and that understanding your DNA can unlock a new level of clarity, confidence, and control over your health.
Longevity isn’t about doing more.
It’s about doing what’s right for you.
And I’m living evidence of that truth.
